The Bintulu Museum tells the story of Bintulu’s transformation, resilience, and progress. Designed as a journey through time and place, the museum’s layered experience brings together the elements that have shaped Bintulu’s identity: its nature, its people, and its industries past, present, and future.

The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) is leading the development of this new museum, a key requirement in Bintulu’s pursuit of city status. This project reflects BDA’s commitment to preserving the town’s rich heritage, from its humble beginnings as a fishing village to its transformation into an emerging industrial powerhouse, while also promoting education, tourism, and community pride. More than simply meeting a requirement, the museum will serve as a lasting symbol of Bintulu’s unique identity and history, supporting its vision of becoming a vibrant, progressive, and culturally enriched city.
