The journey begins with Bintulu’s natural heritage, where rivers, forests, and coastlines form the lifeblood of the region. Visitors are introduced to the Kemena River, the backbone of early settlement and trade, and the diverse ecosystems that continue to sustain both human and wildlife communities. Exhibits highlight Bintulu’s rich biodiversity, from mangroves and rainforests to marine life, revealing how nature has long inspired its people’s way of life, beliefs, and traditions.

The next level celebrates the people of Bintulu, from the earliest coastal settlers and indigenous communities to the multicultural fabric that defines the town today. Location of Museum

Situated on Bukit Jepak, overlooking the Kemena River and Bintulu town, the Bintulu Museum contextualises and connects place, culture and community. Designed not only as a venue to tell the history and stories from Bintulu, but to serve as a public space for community driven activities and programs. From children’s art exhibition and craft fairs, to academic seminars and industry conferences, Bintulu Museum will play a prominent role in as a much needed platform as a public and community forum.
